A friend of the family had a baby in September. We still have not met the new arrival due to the COVID craziness. I had hoped things would get better but instead Omnicron arrived. I decided that we needed to welcome the little one (a bit late) with a special gift of love. I decided to give her one of the FunLab best sellers – a doll by Bonikka called Katy. I know that everyone loves Katy but I wanted to see the reaction when the box was opened. While I was preparing the post I had time to realise how adorable Katy is. Between the flowered dress and hand embroidered shoes I have to admit that I fell in love! Maybe it is because I have a soft spot for flowered blouses! As cloth dolls go, this is is awesome.
Look at her sweet face!
As I as getting ready to wrap the present I realised that I had lots of left over Christmas paper but no baby paper. After a quick trip through my craft supply I found everything that we needed to make personalised gift wrap using collage – a great way to share the love of a Bonikka doll.
Let’s get started.
My daughter and I cut out all different sizes of hearts from craft paper before we decided on a flower with heart petals and button center as our personalised gift wrap. I have to admit that we used the big shot to cut out the hearts because it is so much fun. Watch the video to see how easy it is!
I really love wrapping gifts and the additional of a personalised collage really made us feel as if we were sharing a little bit of (Bonikka) love.
Keep crafting
Alison
