This recipe comes straight out of my Mom’s kitchen. When the brownies were in the oven, it was like be transported back through time to when I was 8 and waiting (no so patiently) for the special treat to come out of the oven:) Even my two kids loved making and then eating these delicious Brownies. Furthermore, they are a great addition to the snack bag for the first day back to school.
Ingredients:
60 grams unsweeted chocolate (I use the Lindt silver package)
113 grams butter
200 grams sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup flour shifted
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
Step 1: Melt the chocolate and butter in the double boiler. Let cool.
Step 2: Add the other ingredients and mix well.
Step 3: Butter a square cake pan and pour in batter.
Step 4: Cook at 350 F for 25 minutes.
Can a recipe be any easier? Just remember that they go fast….
Enjoy the first day back to school!
Alison
Note about recipe: My Mother has been making these brownies for years from memory but the original recipe comes from an out of date James Beard Cookbook. You can find a similar recipe here.
