Halloween is over. It is time to take down all the spooky decorations but we still have time to celebrate fall before the crazy preparations for Christmas begins. At the end of November, there is one American holiday that I absolutely love – Thanksgiving. My Italian version of Thanksgiving is about spending an afternoon with friends. Sometimes the fast pace of our lives makes it difficult to see our most loved friends. Thanksgiving is about taking the time! And of course making all my favorite dishes! Bring out the cinnamon – it is time to start baking! This year I decided that my table needed something extra special. This summer while I was at my parent’s house my Mom and I figured out how to make small Hemp Pumpkin place markers at our big FALL CELEBRATION!
You will need:
orange hemp twine
cinnamon sticks
metal wire
Get started making your
HEMP PUMPKIN PLACE MARKERS!
To hold the pumpkin together, we made a loop out of the metal wire.
Cut 6 lengths of hemp twine and fold in half.
Hook the folded part of the hemp over the end of the metal loop.
Start looping the orange hemp twine through the loop.
Keep looping the twine until the pumpkin takes shape.
We tucked in the ends of the twine into the bottom of the pumpkin.
The finishing touch was a piece of cinnamon as the stalk!
We are one step closer to getting ready for the THANKSGIVING DINNER we have planned for this year! I had the kids make little paper name cards to add to our pumpkins. Next stop is to decorate the front door!
