One year I happened to be wandering through the Boston Common Garden and I stumbled upon gaint purple alyum flowers which enchanted me with their vibrant purple color and outlandishly large size! Here is a craft reproduction which a cinnamon stick stem to make them entirely special. A perfect craft project for teachers looking for a Mother’s Day present to send home with their students.
You will need:
Cinnamon Stickers
Purple Yarn
Green Craft foam
Yellow Ribbon
Hot glue
Let’s get started:
Step 1: Cut out two donut shapes from an old cereal box. Start to methodically wrap with purple yarn.
Step 2: Keep wrapping until the inner circle is nice and full of yarn.
Step 3: Cut the yarn around the edge of the circle.
Step 4: Slide a piece of yarn between the two cardbox pieces and tie to close the pompom. Trim into a round shape.
Step 5: Prepare materials including a long piece of cinnamon stick and green leaves made out of green craft foam.
Step 6: Glue together.
A a little piece of yellow ribbon and your Cinnamon Stick PomPom flowers are ready for that special MOM!
