Do you love summer flowers? I do. This year we decided to transform our favorite summer flowers into gift tags. Recently on social media I have seen all sorts of great projects using eco printing so we here we go! The first part of the project is I my favorite. TAKE A WALK IN THE GARDEN AND COLLECT FLOWERS! We were not sure which flowers would be good for the eco printing so we picked all our favourites and got to work.
I knew that we wanted to make gift tags and we had these at home so it was easy to get started. We put the flower facing down on the tag, covered it with a piece of parchment paper and started pounding away. After a couple of tries, we saw that it is best to tap lightly on the back of the center and then pound harder on the petals to transfer the color. It was so interesting to see which of flowers worked best.
This summer I was able to find a local honey at a farmer’s market. It seemed liked the most appropriate gift for our eco printing using summer flowers gift tags. I decanted the honey into small jars, covered with a colourful crap of fabric and added a tag. Our taste of summer gifts are ready to!
keep crafting
