I have to confess that I do not know how to crochet. It always seemed so tricky that I never tried to figure it out. A little bit embarrassing since FunLab sells all sorts of great craft kits for children to learn how to crochet?. But it is never too late to learn! Over the long Easter holiday I tackled learning how to do the simplest crochet stitch – the chain stitch. It is sooo much easier than I originally thought. I decided to make a quick video so that other beginners can get started with this great handcraft for all ages! Watch the FunLab crochet tutorial for beginners – the chain stitch and get crafting with us!
While I was making this tutorial for beginners, I used a thin metallic embroidery floss because it is easier to see the steps in creating the chain stitch. However, in hindsight, I do not recommend doing your first project with this type of material because it is slippery and way to difficult for my beginner hands!
Get your thread and small crochet hook ready and watch this video.
Stay tuned for our next video where you can learn how to add beads to the chain stitch – a mix of crochet and beading!
Try it out and let us know how it goes!
Keep crafting
