What better way is there to work on learning English vocabulary than some good old fashioned role playing!? Last week in the FunLab workshop our group of Little English Explorers had a great time learning all the words associated with going to a restaurant. In order to learn napkin, napkin ring and placemat, we decided that we needed to recreate a little restaurant with homemade objects. Easy and fun to put together, this recycling based napkin ring was the elegent touch for the FunLab Restaurant experience!
You will need:
toilet paper tubes
acrylic paint
felt
glue
buttons
napkins
ric rac
Let’s get started:
Step 1: Trim your toilet paper tube into a 3cm segment. Color with acrylic paint and let dry.
Step 2: Wrap the painted tube with ric rac and glue in place.
Step 3: Put together a felt flower with a button for a center.
Step 4: Glue the felt flower onto the decorated tube.
Insert a colorful napkin and you are ready to set you table! We also made a woven placemat out of colored paper to complete our place setting!
take care
Alison
