Every year after Christmas, I have 2 birthday parties to organize. Last year, we made a papermache based MONSTER pignata which was a blast at the party but a little bit more work than I had time for this year. After a little bit of internet research, I decided to try to turn a paper bag into a pignata – seemed like a challenge but it was easy to put together and the end result was a perfect PENGUIN PIGNATA!
You will need:
Brown shopper
Candy
Duct Tape
Stapler
Black tissue paper
Craft Glue
White Felt
Big google eyes
Orange Craft Foam
Let’s get started:
Step 1: Look through your collect of paper shopping bags and pick one of the right size.
Step 2: Fill with candy.
Step 3: Fold down top and stable shut.
Step 4: Cover top fold with silver duct tape.
Step 5: Cut trips of black tissue paper and fringe the edge with scissors.
Step 6: Glue onto the shopping bag.
Step 7: Cover top of the bag with large piece of back tissue paper.
Step 8: Cut out a door shaped tummy out of white felt and a beak out of orange craft foam. Glue onto the penguin.
Step 9: Glue on google eys.
Step 10: Cut out feet from orange craft foam and glue onto the bottom of the pignata.
I poked two holes through the top of the pignata so that we could string it up and break it during the party. This pignata was far more resistant that I orginally thought!!!!
take care
