Autumn treats!

Autumn Treats

Has it ever happened to you that you watch a reel on Instagram and you immediately want to try it out but you are not sure about the ingredients in your country? Well, I tried this one out with ingredients that I can find easily here in Milano and it was a success! All you need is one crunchy apple and a roll of puff pastry which in Italy is called “pasta sfoglia”. I love the taste of cinnamon paired together with apple so we mixed together some sugar and cinnamon to sprinkle on our apple puffs before putting in the oven. We even listened to some autumn themed songs while we were making our treats!

The trickiest part of preparing this delicious autumn treat was cutting out the core of the apple. My baking assistant needed a little bit of help with this step.

We cut the puff pastry into strips and then wrapped the apples with the pastry. This was fun and easy! Like making a little apple gift package.

After we wrapped the apple with pastry, we brushed it with a beaten egg to make it become golden during cooking.

Just before putting the apple puffs in the oven, we gave them a generous sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar. I love cinnamon so mine was really generous!

To bake, put in the oven for 20 minutes at 160 C. Let cool and enjoy your healthy autumn treat!

keep crafting
