Sometimes the suggested age furnished on toy packaging can be really misleading. Seeing 4+ written on a toy box makes you assume that older kids would not be interested. Such was just the case when I opened the JOUSTRA Atlier della Creativita’. I opened the box in order to test it at home with my 10 and 13 year old children. I have to admit that they were not interested in the cookie cutter style accessories. However, look what you can creative with a simple 4+ toy and the manual capabilities of an older child! Modeling with the salt dough by Joustra is great! It is soft and easy to form but it also holds its shape. I had fun modeling the salt dough by Joustra into mushrooms. My BIG kids were really busy at work creating all sorts of little animals. Once my son saw that his sister had created a mouse, he had to make a snake to eat it!

We air dried and then painted our creations.

This gets a FunLab thumbs up for kids of all ages (even me). I love the tiny mushrooms we made. Now I just have to figure how where to put them. Click here to see purchase details. I am forgetting to say that the salt dough was just one component of this activity packed kit! Loads of scratch art paper, window sticker material and mosaics. I have company coming over for Thanksgiving at the end of the month with younger kids. We will have to see how the 4+ kids react to this kit. I have to admit that I will not be pulling out modeling with salt dough by Joustra on Thanksgiving but the mosaic and scratch art paper are perfect!
