Product review: SEW CORKY DOG BAG CHARMS by ALEX BRANDS

Today I am going to do a product review of the SEW CORKY DOG BAG CHARMS by ALEX BRANDS! During the month of August, I have time to open merchandise. this is important because I can see exactly how they are packaged and if I can get them to work. The SEW CORKY DOG BAG CHARMS kit was a great surprise. Looking at the box, I assumed that there was just one charm to be made.   However,  the kit contains 3 great charms: a dog purse, a glittery stuffed heart and a shiny tassel. Another surprise was that the dog charm is actually a PURSE – perfect for sending snack money to school with the kids!

The instruction manual was really well done and in multiple languages so there is no need for a full tutorial. However, I put together a quick video to show you how I did it. I also have a couple of helpful tips which you can read below.

I had a great time with the ALEX BRANDS kit but I do have a couple of suggestions:

1. The thread provided in the kit is metallic which is great for its glittery effect but tying it in a not is not so easy. Or better said, the knots kept coming untied. In order to fix this, I added a tiny drop of superglue and it was perfect! (my favorite brand of superglue: is Pattex).

2. Add glue to the gemstones on the dog collar to make them more stable.

3. I would add the ears in STEP 1 of the instructions. The ears are stickers but they also have the premade holes which can be used to sew them into the seam of the ear. I added the ears to mine at STEP 4 as shown in the instruction manual but in hindsight it needs to be done when the muzzle, face and back face are sewn together.

I hope that you have fun with this kit!
